fut0003 - Create a 3D texture and composite in a 2D image

In this tutorial, you will create a 3d texture using various material tools and composite in 2d image in eyeon Fusion. Figure1 shows the final output.

The following steps are required to complete this tutorial:

1. Download the fut0003.rar from the following link: http://www.mediafire.com/?k5288w91eeo16


2. Extract contents of the zipped file to the folder of your choice on the disk.


3. Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate the folder and select day.jpg then choose the Open button.


4. Choose the 3Im from the toolbar; the ImagePlane3D1 is inserted in the toolbar. Drag the red output node of the Loader1 tool tile to the orange input of the ImagePlane3D1, refer to Figure 2.

 5. Press 1; the output of the ImagePlane3D1 tool tile is inserted in the Flow area. Figure 3 shows the output of the ImagePlane3D1 tool.

 6. Choose the LD button from the toolbar; the Open File dialog box is displayed. Navigate the folder and select light-wood-texture.jpg then choose the Open button.

7. Choose Tools > 3D > Material > Blinn from the toolbar; the Blinn1 tool tile is inserted in the toolbar. Drag the red output node of the Loader2 tool tile to the orange input of the Blinn1 tool.

8. Click in the empty space of the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > 3D > Texture > BumpMap from the menubar; the BumpMap1 tool tile is inserted in the Flow area. Next, click on the red output node of the Loader2 tool and drag it to the orange node of the BumpMap1 tool; a connection between the BumpMap1 and Loader2 tools is established.

9. Click on the red output node of the BumpMap1 tool to the white node of the Blinn1 tool tile in the Flow area; a connection between the BumpMap1 and Blinn1 tools is established. Figure 4 shows the network of tools.

10.  In the BumpMap1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

The Source Image is a: Heightmap

Clamp Normal.Z: 0.32                                  


Height Scale: 4.2


11. Make sure the BumpMap1 tool tile is selected in the Flow area. Figure 5 shows the output of the BumpMap1 in the left Display View.

12. Click in the empty space of the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > 3D > Shape3D from the menubar; the Shape3D1 tool is inserted in the Flow area.

13. In the Controls tab of the Shape3D1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:
  Shape: Cube
  Clear the Lock Width/Height/Depth check box
  Width: 5.55                                  Height: 1.1
  Depth: 0.11

14. In the 3D Controls tab of the Shape3D1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:
Translation
 X Offset: 0.07                                Y Offset: 0.12                                   
 Z Offset: 0.014

Rotation
Rotation Order: XYZ
X Rotation: –13.03                       Y Rotation: 18.46                              
Z Rotation: 7.87
Scale: 0.08

Select the Use Target check box

X Target Position: –67.43               Y Rotation: –114.5                          
 Z Rotation: –267.3

15. Make sure the Shape3D1 tool tile is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > 3D > Transform3D from the menubar; the Transform3D1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection     between the Shape3D1 and Transform3D1 tools is established.

16. In the Transform3D1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

Translation
X Offset: 0.26                                   Y Offset: –0.075                      
Z Offset: –0.31

Rotation
Rotation Order: YXZ
X Rotation: 12.1                                Y Rotation: 40.22                  
Z Rotation: –2.01

Pivot
X Pivot: 0.4                                        Y Pivot: 0.66                          
Z Pivot: 0.38

Select the Use Target check box

X Target Position: 4                         Y Target Position: 0.1
             
Z Target Position: 18.74

17. Make sure the Transform3D1 tool tile is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > 3D > Duplicate3D from the menubar; the Duplicate3D1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Duplicate3D1 and Transform3D1 tools is established.

18. In the Duplicate3D1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

Last Copy: 4

Translation
Y Offset: –0.1

19. Click and drag the red output node of the ImagePlane3D1 tool to the red output node of the Duplicate 3D1 tool; the Merge3D1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the ImagePlane3D1 and Duplicate3D1 tools is established.

20. In the Merge3D1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:
Translation
 X Offset: –0.2                                Z Offset: –0.24
 Scale: 2.45

21. Make sure the Merge3D1 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose Tools > 3D > Light > Point Light from the menubar; the Pointlight1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Merge3D1 and Pointlight1 tools is established.

22. Enter 0.6 in the Intensity edit box of the Pointlight1 tool control window.

23. Make sure the Merge3D1 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose the 3Rn button from the toolbar; the Renderer3D1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Merge3D1 and Renderer3D1 tools is established.

24. In the Renderer3D1 tool control window, select the Enable Lighting and Enable Shadows check boxes from the Lighting area. Figure 7 shows the output of the Renderer3D1 tool.

25. Make sure the Renderer3D1 tool tile is selected in the Flow area and then choose Tools > Effect > Shadow from the menubar; the Shadow1 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Renderer3D1 and Shadow1 tool is established.

26. In the Shadow1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameter:
Shadow Offset
X: 0.4                                                            Y: 0.59

Shadow Color
R: 0.18                                                         G: 0.12 

B:.055                                                          A: 0.75

27. Make sure the Shadow1 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose the Rct button from the toolbar; the Rectangle1 tool  is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Shadow1 and Rectangle1 tools is established.

28. In the Rectangle1 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

Center
X: 0.51                                                       Y: 0.42
 Width: 0.009                                               Height: 0.68

29. Make sure the Rectangle1 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, choose the Rct button from the toolbar; the Rectangle2 tool is inserted in the Flow area and a connection between the Rectangle2 and Rectangle1 tools is established.

30. In the Rectangle2 tool control window, set the values of the following parameters:

Paint Mode: Subtract

Center
X: 0.51                                                        Y: 0.587
Width: 0.012                                               Height: 0.019
Angle: –180

31. Make sure the Rectangle2 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, press CTRL+C and press CTRL+V  in the Flow area and a connection between the Rectangle2 and Rectangle2_1 tools is established.

32. Enter 0.42 in Y in the Center area of the Rectangle2_1 tool control window.  

33. Make sure the Rectangle2_1 tool is selected in the Flow area. Next, press CTRL+C and press CTRL+V in the Flow area and a connection between the Rectangle2_1 and Rectangle2_1_1 tools is established. 

34.  Enter 0.24 in Y in the Center area of the Rectangle2_1_1 tool control window.

Figure 8 shows the output of the Shadow1 tool.
